Must read

The first biography of the man who leads Iraq's bloody insurgency, is a dense, detailed chronicle of the insurgent's evolution from his teenage years as a street thug. A must read in these times. Entire chapters of "Zarqawi" read like an inquest produced for White House lawyers, but Brisard certainly succeeds in showing that Zarqawi is the central cog -- even more than bin Laden -- in fomenting continuous violence against U.S. targets (and those who support U.S. aims).

Excellent book, Arabic translation needed

Good job. We just need an Arabic translation. Khalid Al-Jedawi from Saydâ' in Lebanon (ready to publish).

Poor intelligence leads to war

Read the book before writing such stupid comments. Brisard has been a French intelligence analyst for years. He refers to Zarqawi as being an Al Qaeda high-ranking member pre-2003 based on documents published in the book. It may annoy some US neocons to face the raw facts, but the information is fully provided in the book. Don't need to speculate about it, just face it. Poor intel produced the Iraq war. Good understanding of who is Zarqawi will prevent stupid analysis and future wars explained and justified by intel vets.

The most comprehensive work on Zarqawi

I've been following the news on Zarqawi since the beginning of the Iraq war, and this book provides exclusive documents and information. Things you'll never read elsewhere are in this book. This investigqtive book is obviously a treasure grove for any intelligence analyst and anyone wanting to know about Zarqawi. Read the various press reviews of the book. It is the best on this issue.
