The Substance, but Worse

This is like, a 2.5 for me. I want to like this so bad, you have no idea. 😩 But I don’t feel like it worked for me, I think it needed to skew more in the satire direction? I wanted it to go full The Substance, but instead it went more “What if Patrick Bateman was a lady who had impossible to decipher motives?” I never thought I would ever read a book about an unlikable female character that I didn’t feel staunchly defensive of but here we are.
