This Book Could (Radically) Change Your Life

"When you're on the road to your destiny, you can sense it. Don't talk yourself out of doing what you're meant to do just because you feel scared for some reason or don't know what turn to make next. It may take a while for your next opportunity to reveal itself. You're never wasting time as long as you're keeping your eyes and your heart open to possibilities for achieving your destiny. You might be learning something crucial to what you'll do in the future." - From the book Let me begin by saying that reading Your Destiny Switch was thrilling and satisfying on many levels. I found myself cheering and grinning while I read--thankful that someone has FINALLY melded common sense, compassion and the Law of Attraction into a practical, encouraging manual on making the most out of life. It has taken me YEARS of experimentation using wisdom gleaned from studying sacred texts and reading self-help/psychology books to undo destructive thought patterns that begat emotional chaos and confusion. Written in an engaging, lucid style, Peggy McColl explains what I found to be true via trial and error in her book Your Destiny Switch. (How I wish I had this book a decade ago!) Now, I will tell you that I was skeptical at first, especially with the Hay House hype surrounding this book. ("Not another shallow Hay House dud ala Dyer", I groaned.) But despite the tacky publicity blitz surrounding Your Destiny Switch, I can honestly say that this book delivers in terms of showing readers how to master key emotions and use them to live a life of peace, joy and abundance. Now, when I say "abundance", I'm not talking about the narcissistic money grabbing shtick often present in Law of Attraction products (can you say "The Secret"?). And, neither is Peggy McColl. No, what Your Destiny Switch offers is a brilliantly simple model for observing destructive emotions, deciding to feel better and switching to feelings that are more positive and productive for EVERYONE. Ms. McColl discusses "false positive" feelings, differentiating them from authentic positive emotions. In other words, unlike some authors (e.g. Lynn Grabhorn), she doesn't tell you to deny, ignore, or judge negative feelings while forcing "happiness", but rather encourages readers to approach troubling emotions with curiosity and gentleness--embracing the valuable lessons they can impart. I was surprised (and impressed) that Your Destiny Switch actually addressed--quite specifically--some of the misgivings I've had about some New Thought/LofA teachings. For example, how can one "turn up the volume" on a particular emotion when he/she has never experienced it? Well, Ms. McColl addresses this with Switching Strategy #12. And what about compassion for those in difficult circumstances--or dealing with challenging, negative individuals? Rather than the arrogant posturing of some authors (e.g. Rhonda Byrne), who encourage readers to avoid or ignore such people (after all, they're not vibrating in alignme

Your Destiny Switch

Fabulous read, perhaps the most important book I've read in the past year! Peggy McColl has the unique ability to make you think she is talking directly to you, not a vast audience. Without preaching, she presents a clear discourse on why it is so important to get control of one's emotions and a very viable approach to mastering that task. It's the type of book you're going to want to read more than once and keep handy for reference and quick motivation.

Your Destiny Switch: Master Your Key Emotions and Attract the LIfe of YOur Dreams

Great book. I read it in a hurry because it was highly recommended. I loved it. I am looking forward to reading again as a study guide and do the homework. You get a lot just by reading it, but you will change your future if you use as a workbook.

The Real Secret to Achieving Your Dreams (and a Real Switch)

In my opinion, Peggy McColl has nailed this most difficult subject. She takes a very proactive approach to helping us understand our inner thoughts and feelings and how to exercise control so we can create our ideal life. This book is a welcome "switch" from the norm and Peggy delivers on the promises of the subtitle, "Master Your Key Emotions, and Attract the Life of Your Dreams." The switch she is talking about is not an "on-off" switch, but more of a "dimmer" switch that you find over a dining room table. You control the brightness and turn it up at will. Since most people read non-fiction books for the benefit they bring, I've identified a few specific points that might help you. Here are a couple of my favorite nuggets of wisdom Peggy shares in her book: ** You cannot escape from a prison unless you know you are in one. ** Emotions are tricky, because they can trap you and you might not even know it. Admitting you have some difficult emotions and then managing them will unlock the door. ** Knowledge alone is not enough. ** You must supplement your emotions with practical application. You can turn up you success volume by turning up your positive emotions. ** To have it all, you have to be willing to give it all up. ** You can create any level of success, but you can't be attached to the outcome. Positive emotions will bring you what you desire, but it has to come in its own way. I interviewed this author on Inside Success Radio for three reasons: 1) I believe that speaking with an author is the best way to know a book is genuine, 2) it gives the author an opportunity to summarize the main points, which creates a type of "Readers Digest" version of the book, and 3) during an interview you often get additional "golden nuggets" that aren't found in the book. During the radio interview I asked Peggy to share with everyone what the Inside Success Secret is to attract the life of your dreams, and this is what she said: "I think it's important to remember that our emotions are playing this key role in our life and that as much as we can get them, as we might call it, under control, that there will be times in our life where we're thrown a curve ball or we're going to experience a challenge that we did not expect. For that reason and for having the experience myself, chapter four of the entire book Your Destiny Switch is called Getting Back on Track. It starts with a chapter of Using Your Destiny Switch during challenging times, because there will be challenging times. I remember watching a video by Lou Holtz many years ago. Lou Holtz said in the video if you don't have adversity hitting you right now; get ready because it's coming." ### end quote ### I usually try to identify the type person who might NOT enjoy reading this book (and that wasn't easy for this book.) This book is probably not for the person who thinks talking about emotions is for just a few hyper-emotional people. Or, who feels that success onl
