Peter and his father cannot seem to get along together, fighting constantly, until a conversation with Grandpa helps Peter put his family life into perspective. This description may be from another edition of this product.
This story was so well written it made me cry, when I got to the central piece about the purple "thing" that Peter broke. I love how Ms Johnson treats the father/son relationships in the story, how she ties together the generational issues from father to son, to grandfather and grandson, and back to father and son again. It is a touching, gentle story that shows that love isn't always easy to express, and things aren't always what they seem. Highly recommended to read to young sons, and maybe even older ones.
