"Comfort Food"

I have read this book to my 2 young grandchildren when their parents were away for a few short days. Both times, it brought relief, comprehension, and comfort to know that their parents "come back". It is written simply and that is its magic. The assurance that "you come back" stated over and over helps the children feel secure and they want to hear it over and over.

Snaps for Dorothy Corey!

This is an amazing book for young children, to educate them about leaving. Almost every child is afraid at some point that their parents won't come back for them when they go away, and this is the perfect book to help deal with it! I especially love the wonderful illustrations and the simple words that make the book perfect for young children. It is also very good at portraying various races instead of just caucasians like many of America's picture books. An all-around good book!

Add this to the International Adoption list!

I loved this book! It was very simple but straight-forward. We began reading it to our son when he was 2.5 years old, in preparation of our 2nd adoption (when we'd leave him for about a week to travel to Europe to bring home our next child). We'd personalize it by saying when Mommy and Daddy go away, we come back -- when you go to Aunt Jill's, you come back.Highly recommended!

Go and Come

The author has written a book that helps children learn that going away from their care-takers is not something to worry about, because they will be coming back. The illustrator has done an excellent job is show real-life pictures. A great book to read with children.
