A Beautiful Book In Every Way

This book is wonderful! Yoganetics is wonderful! The combination of relaxation,with strength and flexability training creates a balance in the body which I find very plesant. The author has a clear vision of the body/mind connection and presents it in beautifully written language. Photographs illustrating the different movements are easy to follow. I love the superimposed images that show me the exact motion to make. I find the YogaNetics workout to be gentle on the body and yet extremely effective for building muscle strength and flexability. This, one can do at any age without risking damage to joints. In fact, if I have sore joints when I start, the soreness is gone by the time I finish a session! I'm so happy to find a way to stay fit that feels so good. The author writes of the body as something we should cherish and nourish rather than pound into submission. It is a whole different way of thinking and it works!

An amazing book (not just another how to guide).

If you are exercise resistant like I am, this book by Wyatt Townley will maintain your interest and help you work with your body to cope with stress. The author's tone throughout is supportive, inspiring and engaging of your imagination. She has a very articulate, poetic and motivating style of writing. Along with the detailed information in each chapter, there are separate "flow charts" for the beginner and intermediate levels. These comprehensive outlines of the general routines, which the author refers to as "condensed photo maps of the workouts" - are readily accessible for quick reference and help immensely. Using this book is like having your own personal yoga instructor along for the adventure - a real mind/body vacation. This is accomplished through Townley's expert use of poetic guided imagery and clear illustrations of the movements. As my wife said, "It is like having our own `Club Med' in our living room. Practicing Yoganetics has actually changed the way I think about my body in a really good way. The curious thing is that after completing a session of these stretching exercises, you definately feel deeply relaxed, yet more acutely aware and full of energy than when you started.

I was fortunate enough to participate in Wyatt's classes until I moved several states away. Her book reflects her tremendous gifts as a teacher and an author. The pictures demonstrate the poses beautifully and Wyatt's expertise in painting a picture with her words will take you on an unforgettable voyage.
