Never believe in political conspiracies, eh? You ought to take a look at former Governor Evan Mecham's book, Wrongful Impeachment. The former Arizona governor walks the reader step by step through the maze of what went on in 1987 and early 1988 to illegally remove him from office when he was guilty of no crime outside of being a conservative who refused to play by the rules of the Arizona political elite. A true story about a sorry chapter in the history of Arizona. Kind of makes one wonder what would happen if a real conservative were elected to the White House? Enjoy!

An honest man with a message of truth that needs to be heard

Evan Mecham has done a superlative job in spelling out whatreally happened in Arizona in 1987-1988, as well as the years leadingup to that tumultuous period. Having only been in Arizona for the past three years, I had no idea as to the complexness of the political situation in Arizona. Governor Mecham is so much more than the two sentence blurbs most of the country knows him by. Ev is a feeling, compassionate and dedicated statesman, whose only "mistakes" in office was standing up to the behind the scenes money brokers who pull the strings on the politicians who will do what money wants them to, while the population as a whole suffers. Governor Mecham committed no crimes, performed nothing even hinting of an impropriety, and fought hard for the taxpayers, cut taxes and spending, and begin mobilizing a to be effective drug fighting program. This book is an excellent read, and anyone who wants to read the truth about Governor Mecham, and the disgusting behind the scenes actions done by big money in Arizona (similar activities are going on in every other state aswell), and who wants to be inspired by the persistence of a man who was a prisoner of war to the nazis in world war II, a successful businessman, newspaper publisher, and state senator; on to fighting for everyone while Governor - being maimed, maligned, and raked over the coals all the while - should read this book. I highly recommend the book Wrongful Impeachment. Read it, for as it has been said, "the truth shall set you free", as will the knowledge and information this book shares.

My hope is that we the people will have learned from the Mecham experience. This timely book helps. It clearly reminds us that our political institutions are not infallible and that justice cannot prevail if the majority of those responsible for the proceedings serve their own narrow parochial political interests over the interest of the nation and at the expense of the truth.
