First in an excitingly different and new paranormal series. Zo? Martinique has turned her unusual ability into a career. When she's traveling, she can't be seen which makes her an ideal professional snoop. Industrial espionage, surveillance, whatever. But one night things get out of hand while she's outof- body. She witnesses a murder and a soul stealing, and discovers she has unwelcome company: Trench- Coat, a ghostly killer who can see and hurt her. Teaming up with a blue-eyed police detective, she tries to solve the case and improve her love life. She also enlists the support of her psychic mother and the ghostly couple who haunt her house. And with murderers, kidnappers, and a desperate ex-porn star involved, Zo? needs all the help she can get.
Weldon creates a story that is fun and easy to read yet complex enough to draw you in. By the end of the book I found myself liking Zoe Martinique and glad there was more to read.
Unique sense of humor to match my own!

I loved this book since I picked it up! I thought the concept of a wraithe-character was unique, and presented very well in this book. I loved Zoe's sense of humor most of all. She'd make little comments throughout the story, about events or other characters that kept me laughing the whole way through. I thought the character development as well as the story line was endearing and remarkable. I loved this book and have absolutely no complaints about it, except that I don't see a sequel available.... (yet????)
Not perfect, but I still loved it.

There were definitely some problems with this novel, most of which are mentioned in other reviews. Daniel was overly eager to discuss his case with a stranger, Zoe screwed-up constantly, and the story was a bit confusing. My biggest problem with the story was the end, namely that it isn't a stand alone novel and now I have to wait for the sequel. But despite all this, I couldn't put it down. I had such fun reading it. I will definitely read the next book as soon as it comes out.
An AWESOME Debut!

I was THOUROUGHLY impressed with this first novel from Phaedra Weldon. Anyone who enjoys unique, fun urban fantasy will love this book. Ms. Weldon's writing is fast paced, fun, and witty with a host of fascinating characters. I can't wait to read more Zoe's escapades.

As a huge fan of Patricia Biggs, I had great hopes that I had found another author in the Urban Magic genre, and I was not disappointed. It was a totally new and different take. The book was funny, entertaining, scary and ultimately very satisfying. I will not go into detail regarding the plot as others have already done that, but I will say without doubt that you should read this book, it will not disappoint, Can hardly wait for future episodes.
