Basic, but good stuff that sounds good to me.

Yes--this book is an overview of Carleton course but it also contains some good information and is very suitable for the newcomer to real estate. Carleton covers a lot of his famous "No Money Down" techniques and beats to deatht he success of his students. In that regard, it does resemble an advertisement, but if you have the testimonials, why not flaunt them? This book will not be enough to get your started in real estate investing. His course is far more complete. This book will get your interest. The course will make you wealthy. Use this book as an intro to real estate investing.

Real Estate Investor gives it 2 thumbs up

Of course I have seen Carleton Sheets infomercials numerous times over the last 18 years. The fact that he has lasted this long while so many others are gone says a thing or two about the guy and the success of his system. What Carleton is teaching is essentially what all successful all etate investors have done to amass wealth and tax deferred income via real estate investing. He has his own variations, but none the less, it's allt he same and what's more Sheets admits it. Carleton Sheets admits that the first man to use these techniques was Mr. Zuckendorth but Sheets did the most to popularize them. Sheets has written a good book on real estate investing replete with nothing down strategies, an overview of real estate investing, testimonials and much more.

Real Estate-The World's Greatest Wealth Builder by Sheets

This is an excellent book for anyone desiring to purchasea property as either a first home or a vacation home. The purchaseof a property on "nothing down terms" requires a lot of verymeticulous verification work. Carleton's book points out all ofthe opportunities and pitfalls. Basic terms are defined clearly.Carleton reviews the "nothing down" techniques for acquiringa property utilizing other peoples' money. There are variousways to accomplish these techniques. For instance, supposeyou locate a motivated seller who will give you a note fora portion of the purchase price. Assume that the house has aloanable value far in excess of what you will be paying. In this case, you can acquire a house with nothing downbecause the financial institution is well-protected by thevalue of the home. In estate sales, you can acquire thecontents of the home , as well as the home. In foreclosures, the seller (usually a financial institution) is looking forsomeone to assume the mortgage so that the monthly maintenancecosts will no longer be assumed by the bank. Sometimes, you can literally roll over a property by acquiring it andselling it immediately at a much higher price. There aregovernment homesteading programs wherein the governmentwill give you the property just for living in it for a periodof time. There are special programs which provide 50%discounts for teachers and special discounts for the disabled.Carleton Sheets covers most of these programs in his works. In addition, he sells a "Nothing Down" series of workbookswhich outline the process on pre-designed worksheets. The HUD (Housing and Urban Development) Website has a descriptionof many of the government programs. There are special programsfor veterans and the home-business utilization of a property.Due to the favorable foreign exchange rate, homes in Canadaare cheaper. Carleton's book on "Real Estate-The World'sGreatest Wealth Builder" is a good place to start investingin real estate. When you look at a property, you should bringan experienced plumber and electrician to advise you onthe applicable code. In addition, keep in mind the structuralrequirements in a house. Money spent on an experienced"home inspector" is money well spent. The government haslow cost earthquake insurance for homes in earthquake zones.Lastly, you should look at the town or county inspector'sbooks in order to find out about previous violations, fires and other reportable events on the property. Real Estateis a good investment because the social security allotmentwill not cover everything in your retirement. In addition, people change jobs and the pension vesting is not alwayscontinuous. Real Estate can help you to make up the differencein your personal investment portfolio and planning. In instances where a house requires fixing, the HUD providesTitle I loans up to $15,000 for fix-up expenses. These loansare at a very low rate of interest. The work is worth every bit the price paid because mistakesin this area can be costly and law

Great place to start for beginning investors

I already owned the course and it works! But I was curious to know more about Carleton Sheets and his background, so I bought the book. He does give us a glimpse at his past, but primarily he offers a lot of tips and techniques for beginning real estate investors -- many which are also included in his course. If you want to get a taste for his investment strategies and philosophies -- buy the book. And if you like what you see, I recommend the course for anyone who wants to make more money!

Better than his Home Program

Carlton Sheets has an excellent real estate program that teaches the average person how to buy real estate with no money down. This book is an excellent introduction to his program and will be quite an eye opener for anyone looking to buy a home or investement property.
