Words that hurt, words that heal

I am using this book in my Bible study. It is an great guide on the tongue and mouth. I never realized how hard they are to control and how much damage can be done. I would highly recommend. Jeannie Martin

Will make you think before you talk

This a great book for personal reading or small group. It discuss everything related to the use of our tongue from checking our motivation before saying things, on bragging, on complaining, on careless speech and gossip, on anger, on giving and receiving reproof, on gentleness, to the sacrifice of praise. Truly a helpful resource for an extrovert like me.

Every person, Christian and non-Christian should read this.

Every Christian should read this book. Even those "mature" who think they have a good foothold on living a Christian life. This book brings to the fore front those "little areas" we love to overlook. It is a great study to do with a partner. You could do it on your own, but some of the power is gained by sharing with another who will hold you accountable to those "Whoops, there I go again." areas of your life.

Good group study book

We used this book in our weekly women's Bible study group and everybody enjoyed it. We found the lessons particularly relevant to women in today's world. Also, Ms. Mayhall's writing is very clear and easy to understand.

One of the best 'self help' books I ever read.

This book not only prevents your hurting other people with your words, but it also teaches you how to consider the motivation behind words directed at you from other people. When you learn how and why people use words to manipulate your feelings, you can alter your reaction to protect yourself from hurt.
