this wordwatcher's Handbook is not only informative...it is delightful and entertaining. I first saw an older edition and then ordered it, not realizing it would be a third edition. New words were added, computer language and important business acronyms. Here an example of Martin's hu or..."cursor = little blinking marker to show you where the work is being done on the computer screen." Then "curser" = humanoid who is trying to learn how to operate the computer." Another valuable feature is the inclusion of French and Italian menu terms. This feature is quite a bonus. Another excellent feature is a lengthy list of overused words and cliches. And of course, all those misused words like, irregardless, snuck, etc. This book needs to be given to each and every graduate from college as well as high school.
Fabulous, useful and informative

This book is amazing. I have an undergad in English and worked as a writer/editor for a magazine for a number of years, and yet this book taught me things that I had never learned elsewhere. Anyone who wants to improve his/her language skills and avoid common mis-uses of words should read this short book and re-read it about once per year.
