I first bought and used this book when I was 18. It provided me with an excellent vocabulary. I am 61 now. I bought it again. My vocabulary has been slipping over the years. It is an excellent learning device. It is easy to use. There are tests to evaluate your progress. The core word list is almost identical to the core vocabulary list in the new edition of Roget's Thesaurus. The book expects you be serious about learning. Every chapter is a well written lesson.
