The muted group theory of language development explored in this book gives additional insight to any reader of Deborah Tannen or Robin Lakoff. Though out of print, it is worth searching out. It sparks new thoughts, answers some questions while raising others. For anyone interested in sociolinguistics and gender based language studies, this is a great starting place.
