This book made me feel warm and fuzzy inside and brought me so much joy!

This was book was an absolute treat to read, and such a quick read for me too. I loved every second of it! As a Puerto Rican/Cuban-American I was able to relate so much to Emoni and her family. I saw some of my own family in hers and I also loved the touches of the Spanish language and Caribbean history that are woven into the story. The writing in this book was so beautiful, the recipes made me hungry, and I’m not ashamed to admit I shed more than just a few tears while reading this. I really connected with the characters, rejoiced when they did, cried when they did, etc... I was sad to close this book at the end, but filled with so much joy after reading it. This is definitely worth the read! If you’re a fan of contemporary novels that make your insides feel all warm and fuzzy, you need to pick this one up.
