One of the few romance novel gems...

Honestly, I'd rather be immersed in Anne Rice than a romance novel... at least that's what I thought until I picked up this book years ago. I've probably read it ten times, and I love it each and every time. Caroline, the novel's heroine, is strong willed, intelligent, and courageous- not something seen very often in any sort of novel. Her husband, Joshua, is easy to hate... and who cannot help but be seduced by Captain Domino and the time spent on the tropical island? I was hooked. If you love historical novels, and like romance, this is the book for you. Unlike some romance novels where the sex is focused on, this hints at it without there being an abundance. It's a perfect mix. Loved it a million times over.
