This is a wonderful book that first exposed me to the craft when I was about 13 years old. A few years later I foolishly managed to lose the Witch's Workbook, but I finally have a "new" copy. Excellent reading. While some of her pronouncements regarding science's acceptance of things relating to the craft do not hold true the nature of the book itself is eye opening, and as the other reviewer wrote, Anne Grammary treats her reader's like grown-ups, which is refreshing. I have a warm place in my heart for this book. I do though have one question... Who is this illusive author who has but this one title under her name? Regardless,.. this was a life changing book and I am happy, after over 25 years, to have finally obtain another copy
The Witch's Workbook

This is an old OP title that was published before the Craft became so very PC. In it, you find the word Wicca only once. It is purely good old-fashioned Witchcraft, and IMO well-worth owning. The author states clearly that the Craft is not for the faint-of-heart, which it isn't. She covers basic ritual, conjuring, the requisite love spells, and some interesting rituals involving the conjuring of shades & demons. No doubt the fluffy bunnies frequently found in today's Craft would swoon from the shock. Yes, it's manipulative magic! The author writes on the assumption that if you're grown-up enough to be reading it & dedicated enough to follow the Path, she doesn't need to hold your hand and constantly warn you about the possible consequences of your actions. Alas, it is not indexed and there is no bibliography included, so there is no means of going to the author's sources for more information. I have had no luck locating info re: Ann Grammary (quite the pen name ), but I continue to search. I rate this book at 4 stars because it contains things I haven't found elsewhere (and I read extensively!), and because it treats the reader like a grown up!
