Fun read, very enjoyable

I really enjoyed the first book, and just finished this one. There are great stories. Neat storyline, a bit of fun, a bit of serious. The world she has created is a nice difference from the high fantasy worlds. I noticed a young adult comment, I would not say young adult on this book, but fun fantasy, yes. If you are looking to read one of Karen Miller's books, you would be disappointed. I enjoy those books as well, but these have a completely different feel to them. The Kingbreaker and Mage series are very deep, dark and complex. In a good way. These are light, interesting, slight darkness, more of a shadow here and there, but overall really easy and fun reads. She is using a pen name for good reason, they are totally different styles of writing. I am impressed that she can put out books that are so very different, but, to me, still great reads. I recommend this series for light hearted fun that will keep you interested.

I was Thoroughly Entertained

While I liked the debut book of this series more, I still enjoyed this book. The previous entry into the series was much more epic, and I tended to like the characters more. This book focused on a character I didn't enjoy from the first novel, and there was really no big villain. It played out more like a mystery novel where the characters have magical powers. The characters were still really strong, and the goofy nature played out well, though the tone had some problems when switching between the Witches Inc investigation and the Rogue Wizard point of view. Nonetheless, I was thoroughly entertained while reading Witches Incorporated and will be sure to pick up the next installment.

Cute, but not as strong as the 1st book

This was a decent 2nd addition to the series. It was not as enchanting as K. E. Mill's first book (in this series), but many of your favorite characters will reappear- as well as some new ones just as interesting. The major reason I didn't like the book was that the conclusion seemed a bit.. contrived, and some of the actions of the characters didn't fit with who I thought they were. But the book was still well written.

Entertaining

K. E. Mills' sequel to The Accidental Sorcerer brings to my mind a quote by Thorne Smith, author of "Topper": "Like life itself my stories have no point and get absolutely nowhere. Quite casually I wander into my plot, poke around with my characters for a while, then amble off, leaving no moral proved and no reader improved. You will be equally mystified if not revolted. I am myself." Gerald, a previously 3rd grade wizard come into his "rogue wizard" powers, is now an undercover agent for the government, while his friends Princess Melissande, Reg, and Monk's sister Bibbie have started their own agency, Witches, Inc. Of course their assignments intersect, and the words "madcap" and "hijinks" are brought to mind. I am a fan of Thorne Smith's work, so I was entertained by this book as well. 543 pages flew easily by, never getting bogged down in details or plot. The story focuses more heavily on the girls of Witches, Inc, but I was still a little frustrated by the lack of growth of Gerald's powers. The first book had him developing the power to create dragons, while in this book the most impressive demonstrations of his powers included mind control and lock-picking. I had also hoped for a little more elaboration on Reg's history. I have high hopes for the third book in this series.

amusing enjoyable fantasy

Everyone who knew him including himself believed Gerald Dunwoody was a third-grade wizard; he affirmed his level of competency as a safety inspector who accidentally blew up the factory he was inspecting. However, everything changed for Gerald in New Ottosland where his performance proved elitist (see THE ACCIDENTAL SORCERER). The New Ottosland royal government trains Gerald in secret to become a first class wizard. His first cold field assignment is to find and capture a deadly saboteur. At the same time Princess Melissande and Emmerabiblia Markham open up one stop one shop Witches Incorporated to handle all matters of bewitching. Once again, Gerald while Reg pecks at his brain, and Melissande with never silent Biblia at her side (well almost) work on the same case just representing different clients. The second Rogue Agent fantasy is an amusing enjoyable tale filled with a strong albeit reluctant lead character and solid support players who are purposely uses hyperbole to satirize the genre. The story line is fast-paced as the accidental sorcerer is on his first official case; keep in mind preventing a war between a superpower and the kingdom employing you does not count as that was not in his job description at the time. Fans who appreciate a jocular fantasy filled with humor and intrigue and more humor will want to read the lighthearted continuing adventures of Gerald and his acerbic bird-brained sidekick.
