one of the best supernatural books i have read in a while

holly's life is turned upside down when her parents and her best friend are killed in a rafting accident. she is sent to live with an aunt and twin cousins that she did not even existed. unknown to her and her cousins they are descended from a long line of witches and their arch nemesis, the devereaux clan is watching all these events with growing concern. for there is a blood feud between the families that dates back 600 years and the devereaux clan has sworn to get bloody revenge. this book puts books like charmed to the point of looking like nice reading material for your children at bedtime. it has blood, reincarnation, murder, all the dark works ofevil that you could ever ask for. i can't wait till i read the next book.

Awesome!

I loved this book! Although I do have to admit it got a little confusing in some places. It kept me reading untill 4:00 in the morning (really it did!) This book has a great plot for all you "sweep" fans out there. Its about a girl, Holly, whos parents and best friend are killed in a rafting accident and she is sent to live in Seattle with an aunt she doesent even know. What she finds in Seattle is mystery. Things start happening to her that she can't explain. And then she meets this hottie at the local hang out and they are drawn to one another for a reason they can't explain (yet). and that is really where things start pickin up. You really have to pay attention in the end and put 2 and 2 together so pay attention! It makes sense if you do. Overall I thought it was great and I can't wait to read the next one.

Definitely Wicked!

After attending a recent signing for Wicked: Witch, written by Nancy Holder and Debbie Viguie, I tore through the novel in a single afternoon. I was immediately drawn into the story with the first chapter and couldn't put it down. The book is filled with beautiful poetry (written by Debbie) that starts off each chapter and an engaging story which focuses on the lives of two pairs of tragic lovers in the past and present. An age old conflict rages between two magical families and revolves around the main characters--Holly and Jeraud. Who will break the spell? Readers will be entranced by this novel, the first of four, co-authored by Nancy Holder and Debbie Viguie and will be crying for more as the last page is turned. We are left hanging by a thread until Wicked: Curse is released in January.

Can you say "Where is the next installment in the series???"

Highly enjoyable read. Impossible for me to put down, so I read it in one sitting. It was very easy to become involved with the characters in this story. You can almost feel their emotional state which changes with every turn in the road. I'm not a big "flash back" fan but the ones in this book were done such that they made sense and moved the whole plot line forward.

I was hooked on the first page

It is not often that I actually stop and admire an image in a book. I usually appreciate imagery but I'm not one to ruminate on it. However, when I read "Clouds like decomposing gray fists" I just had to stop and enjoy the vivid picture that Holder and Viguie had painted in my mind's eye. From that moment on, the book ran much like the rapids it begins on. I literally could not put it down (I nearly got in trouble for taking such a long lunch). I thought it was an intelligent read, scary and suspenseful, without the overly nasty bits you sometimes get in horror novels.WITCH hit me from just about every side, I cried, I got angry, I laughed (out loud, it was kind of embarrassing, people stared), I was hopeful only to have my hopes dashed and then re-kindled then dashed...you get the picture. I even nearly had a heart attack at least twice. The tapestry of past and present was incredible as the characters took form and the history unfolded. The characters come alive and just when you think you have it figured out...you don't. I always appreciate it when a book surprises me and WITCH managed to pull off a few twists that even I didn't expect. My only complaint is that I have to wait for book 2!!!!! :) Well done.
