Good Read

Autumn agrees to marry Roy Donovan to get away from the loving control of her brother Mitchell. Roy promises her she can keep wearing her britches and she will not have to birth any children with him, as birthing a child is something she fears, seeing her mother and other women die in child birth. Robert wants Autumn for the money she can put into his Hunnington Hall plantation on the volcanic island of Cayemite. After Roy marries Autumn, he leaves to take care of business he says and when he does not come back for her, she decides to go to Cayemite. She tells her brother about her marriage and Mitchell and her sister-in-law accompany her to the Island and her husband Rob. But Rob is dead and it is his brother Brice she finds at Hunnington Hall. Instant attraction, and they let her brother believe that Brice is actually Rob. That way She does not have to leave with her brother and Brice feels like Autumn can save his soul, that a mad woman, Madame Annee Rose is trying to control. Annee Rose wants Brice and Hunnington Hall, anyone in her way dies. I liked the story, although I never felt like the reason that Brice stayed on the Isle under that Mad woman's control ever made any real sense. When ever he was in her presence he turned into a puddle of butter, unable to control his male urges with her even when he knew she had killed his father, brother, and others and would also go after Autumn. Anne Rose sedated him into compliance at the end but not at any of the other times. I just felt he was very weak when it came to Rose, too weak when he claimed he hated her. I just don't know why he didn't take Autumn and leave the Island much sooner. The reason given that he stayed on the Island and in that mad woman's control for so long, was just really weak to me. I really liked the boy Pierre, and I wished he had been in the story even more and that his powers had been explained. Also, at the ending of the book, I wish it would have followed through with what happened to everyone after leaving the Island. But it was a good read and worth reading. I would have given it a five star if a few things in the plot had been explained a little better.

You'll be swept away - a must-read for Sutcliffe fans

This book was totally worth the money I paid for it. You're guaranteed to stay up all night reading it. This just confirms my belief that anything with a "Katherine Sutcliffe" name on it is a keeper. The main characters were very well developed. Autumn - beautiful and headstrong, with hidden fears, will absolutely charm you. Brice is to-die-for with a total package(he definitely made my toes curl). Sparks fly, and these two amazing individuals quickly fall in love. Love scenes are sensual and sweet. The ending was scary - the female villain is plain sinister, though maybe a little undeveloped.Read "Windstorm",a highly entertaining romance packed with passion, sacrifice, and forgiveness. Katherine Sutcliffe has proven once more that she is an undeniable talent.
