Archer and Zahra are too hot...

Archer Le Veq's story was long awaited. He is the oh-so-sexy (and I do mean toe curling SEXY) younger brother of Raimond Le Veq (Indigo, Through the Storm) and he meets the seductive Zahra Lafayette also known as "the Butterfly." The story centers around Archer's and Zahra's from-the-beginning attraction to one another, their lives as spies and a mission that brings them together. I was pleased to be able to catch up with Raimond, and his wife Sable, as well as Archer's other brothers, the "Brats" and their mother, Juliana. As with all Beverly Jenkins books, this story (I read it in a day) is filled with excellent history lessons, intrigue and passionate, heart-pounding, mind-blowing love scenes that hold you until the last page. Archer was all that and then some!! I hope to hear more about the other Le Veq siblings. I've read all Beverly's books and each one takes my breath away. I can't wait until her next one due in November. Until then, it may be a long summer! Read this and all Beverly's books!

She's BACK! Beverly Jenkins has written a new Indigo, Awesome.

I read all Bev Jenkins' books. Her Historicals and Contemporaries are all great. However, I felt just a little something had been missing since her first five novels were written. This Book makes up for everything. The Heroine is totally admirable and awesome. The Hero is gorgeous and a gentleman. A sexy gentleman. A female Spy during the civil war and afterwards. He is a Gens de coleur, rich and a former spy. Great combo. Tons of Action. Totally Erotic. And, the scene between Zahra (Heroine) her straight razor, Archer's (Hero) Former Mistress and her Voodoo using Aunt is Great! Read it just to be proud of Black Folk contributions during the Civil War. (And the Erotica). Or just for the pure enjoyment and excitement.

Awwww.... Awesome!!!

Beverly Jenkins has written another wonderful, romantic, phenomenal story. Zahara LaFayette, known as the Butterfly, is asked by Harriett "Araminta" Tubman to assist the President with seeking out "Death Books". (I don't want to give too much away) Accepting the challenge, Zahara assumes the roll of Madame Domino and she travels to the City of New Orleans to begin her serach. While there she encounters Archer Le Veq, brother of Raimond Le Veq. (Through the Storm). Zahara rescued Archer in a prior mission and their paths are about to meet again. Like all of Jenkins novels, the history is wonderful, the characters are fasinating, funny, mysterious and loving. The romance is breathtaking and it leaves you panting for more. I can't wait until the next romance begins. Peace and Blessings!!

Another One for the History Lady!

It was good to be invited back to the House of Le Veq. Not only did we get another African American history lesson from Beverly Jenkins but we also got romance and some amusing situations. Again Ms Jenkins has done it again with her story of Archer Le Veq and Zahara (Butterfly/Madame Domino). Ms Jenkins can't write them fast enough for her fans, but when she does they are well worth the wait. Keep it up, Lady B.

great Reconstruction Era romantic intrigue

In 1871 South Carolina Harriet "Araminta" Tubman informs Zahra Lafayette that President Grant wants her to look how strong the storm winds are blowing in New Orleans that could undo much of the freedom the former slaves have obtained. Her prize for helping the President is land for her parents though by law they should have gained the acreage as freedmen by now. Reluctantly she agrees to go undercover as renowned Madam Domino. In New Orleans, Domino meets wealthy Archer Le Veq, whom she rescued from certain death in 1863; still she hides her identity behind her domino mask. Hotel owner Archer is intrigued by the rumors of the owner of the most exclusive brothel in town. He plans to unmask her and more in his bed. Though attracted to Archer, Zahra must stay focused for distraction could lead to a fatal mistake as dangerous murders with "death books" frequent her part of the city. WINDS OF THE STORM, the sequel to THROUGH THE STORM, is a great Reconstruction Era romantic intrigue starring two courageous individuals supported by a captivating historical foundation. The story line is action-packed with historical tidbits cleverly interwoven into the invigorating plot. However, it is the cast especially the romance between the lead pair and the insight into the city that makes Beverly Jenkins latest tale a must read for Americana fans. Harriet Klausner
