A thoroughly useful book

I originally bought the book looking for an overview of client administration and have found it equally useful as a desk reference. The examples given have proven invaluable in dealing with everyday issues as well as some inappropriate configurations I was unaware of. The Daily Administration and Security sections are especially well written and informative. I can only hope Jones does a Win2000 book.

The best "real life" Windows admin book.

This is the best guide to administering Windows in the real world (although I would like to see more info on TCP/IP and on applications support, which generate a lot of help desk calls). It should be required reading for MCPs & MCSEs looking for a job, because it shows you what REALLY goes on in a Windows network, instead of how Microsoft claims it SHOULD work. There is one small error I noticed. Regarding scripting: the NET TIME \\SERVERNAME command will not work in a logon script, unless it is followed by the switches /SET and /YES.
