I bought this book because I wanted to add to my collection of sketchbooks by various artist. I am somewhat disappointed . Some of the other material on the artist has his drawings that show how he developed his paintings. The sketches are highly praised in an essay in the book. They are more curious than examples of good draughtsmanship. The repros are good. One wonders did Barnet keep a sketchbook until his last years? I have learned that he stopped using line in his later work . Unless your a sketchbook nut like me, or an ardent fan of Will's work . I would skip it and buy the other books available on this artist. An exhibition catalogue can be downloaded and printed using your computer printer. It is a show about his family and childhood home in Massachusetts. I like it as well as the other books I bought on this artist.
