fantastic style book that came out in 1985 and showcased some of the wild, unique, punk and new wave styles that was sweeping across the country. A must for any fashion/design library. This description may be from another edition of this product.
WILD STYLE by Robert Hofler and Cyn Zarco is a fantastic style book that came out in 1985 and showcased some of the wild, unique, punk and new wave styles that was sweeping across the country. From hair extensions to dread locks; bondage pants to Comme Des Garcons(upscale designer clothes); men in full makeup to women with mohawks...WILD STYLE had a little bit of everything, along with an "anything goes" attitude. Photographed by Doug Vann, all of the people appearing in WILD STYLE dressed as they did everyday and/or for going nightclubbing and were photographed in New York's downtown/lower Manhattan(SoHo,NoHo,East/West Village,Tribeca) area. Although the book is only 80 pages in length it's stuffed with color/b & w photographs, descriptions, how people achieved certain looks etc. Of course, the book is over 20-years old so some of the styles might look dated...but what a great snap-shot of a time where some people didn't search for an "identity," they created one.

Even though this book was written a duo of decades ago, it is still relevant for more 'out there' fashion starved folk. I get so many ideas from this book- I'm constanty inspired. Very worth it to own this book. I've never really seen another of it's calibre. Perhaps I'm just a glutton for pre 1995 fashion though.
