Nice, romantic read

Serena and Leo meet at their mutual best friends' wedding. They strike angry sparks off each other but end up sharing a passionate kiss. However, Serena, recovering from a broken romance, and Leo, determined to maintain his bachelor status, have no intention of getting involved with each other...at least, not until Leo finds himself in need of a fake fiancee. Serena, who's reluctantly working at Leo's bank and would love to open her own restaurant, is just the girl he needs... While I admit that using the 'fake fiancee' twist, to bring two characters who dislike each other together, has been done to death, it still works nicely here. The dialog between these two characters is bright and caustic, with an underlying tension between the two well maintained throughout. There's a somewhat corny, contrived plot twist after the two first make love, which ends up destroying Leo's belief that Serena might be the girl for him (I deducted a star for this contrivance). But aside from that, the rest of the story is crisp and satisfyingly romantic; this is an enjoyable, quick read.

Wife-to-Be

Back cover reads: The bridesmaid and the best man When Serena met Leo Kerslake at a wedding, sparks flew! Wearing a frilly bridesmaid's dress was bad enough, but coping with Leo, the devastatingly attractive best man, was sufficient to make her lose her cool. And then he proposed! He needed a fiancee--and he was prepared to pay. She was willing to accept--and asked for advance payment! Leo obviously thought she was the most mercenary woman on earth. But Serena was too proud to reveal the truth: she needed the money for a good cause, and she did find Leo very attractive...

An excellent book! One of the best!

I loved this book! It was extremely well written, admirable characters, and a wonderful plot. This is one of the best books I've ever read! I read this book three times in a row! Jessica Hart should really be commended!

It was excellent!

The synopsis didn't look too good, but this book was REALLY good!!!!!! It was funny and romantic and the characters said the right things. The characters were also people you could admire.
