Jukka Lehto decided to make a radical change in his life. He gave up the world of teaching, his passion, and took refuge in the routine of repetitive work that offered him the opportunity to build a microcosm inhabited by a great variety of people and places along the Costa Blanca, in the province of Alicante. A world that offered him apparent security. However, on a day that began as routine, a couple of fortuitous events crossed his path causing him to meet two women: Helena and Jana. From that day on, their fears, their silences, and a series of cleverly disguised lies became the true face of the microcosm that Jukka perceived as safe. The weight of the past will gradually generate a disconcerting relationship between these three protagonists, who, without knowing it, are connected by an act of a perverse nature. In Jukka's case, the past is also intermingled with his uprooted origins and the memory of movie sequences that marked him and references to cinematographic aesthetics. Only by unearthing the past of the three, which has its roots in a decisive moment at the end of the Second World War, will it be possible to bring peace to Jukka, Helena, and Jana.
