Ruth went into foster care as a baby of just a few months old. She was adopted out to a prominent family who lived on the south side of Chicago back in the late 1960s. Throughout her life, she had to wade through rape, incest, heroin and cocaine addiction, prostitution, and spousal abuse. This was a perilous journey yet through her tenacity, and survival instincts, she was able to survive.
