For every kid who loves construction and cake!

And isn't that most kids? You should have seen my 3-year-old's eyes last night as we read this book. So many wonderfully drawn construction vehicles in action... and all in the process of making birthday cake! What could be better? This is a wonderful premise, gorgeously illustrated. A winner!

Great gift for a 3 year old boy!

We checked this out at our library, but I new right away that I'd have to get one for my son's very own on his third birthday! He is an avid construction truck enthusiast and this story is such a creative way to incorporate the sweetness of something even better, cake!

Another favorite for my little guy!

Along with the story and fun illustrations, my children have discovered patterns with the people - on each page there are characters such as "the falling down guy" and the "sweeper-uppers". They love looking for them on each page. Clever book that we all love and is read at least once a day!

Bubble Birthday

In a child's wildest dreams, as his mother bakes his birthday cake, the bulldozers and Playmobil characters roll into to set to work. Dump trucks deliver flour, sugar and baking powder; bulldozers crack eggs and mix. They pour it in the pan and "load it in the oven" and take a break until it's done. Concrete mixers and trucks frost, and then come the finishing touches: strawberries and a helicopter-handed Happy Birthday sign. But wait! Here comes the real thing. Just don't let it pop. Happy Birthday! Any 3-6-year old will delight in this visual masterpiece.

Great childrens book

My five year old nephew loves this book! Tractors and other construction machine help make a cake. The book contains lots of pictures of the cake and the machines as the cake is being made. It's his favourite book and he loves the Mighty Machine series. Recommended.
