Jack Dorsey is a web developer and businessman from the United States who was born on November 19, 1976, in St. Louis, Missouri. He cofounded Twitter in 2006 along with Evan Williams and Christopher Stone.

The taxicab businesses used the taxi dispatching software that Dorsey developed as a youngster. Before relocating to San Francisco in 1999, he attended New York University. There, he founded a business that used the Internet to manage the dispatching of taxis, emergency vehicles, and couriers. He originally thought about using text and instant messaging to stay in touch with pals in 2000 (based on the dispatch software's tenets). Six years later, he pitched his idea to Williams and Stone, who worked with them to create the first version of the Twitter platform.
