Back to the Basics

Although it's an exceedingly rare event, every once in a while you'll have the good fortune to encounter a book that in just a few pages can change your life forever. Who Are You and What Do You Want? by Mick Ukleja and Robert Lorber is one such book. Using a new approach called Four-Dimensional Thinking, the authors lay out a system for helping readers get in tune with their TRUE life goals (NOT the ones that someone else has defined for them), and then creating a plan that will enable them to achieve these goals. I especially like the last chapter -- Your 48-Hour Personal Retreat. The chapter guides you through the process of Four-Dimensional Thinking, using a series of particularly insightful exercises. Long story short, this book provides a no-nonsense, back-to-the-basics approach to bringing out your very best, and achieving success on YOUR terms. The authors have poured their hearts into this book, and it really shows. I personally can't wait to put it to work in my own life! Highly recommended.

lessons for life

This book is designed to help readers change their own lives, and the authors provide concepts and approaches that can be applied every day. The values-based foundation connects principles with application through excellent examples from the actual experience of a diverse set of individuals. Mick Ukleja and Robert Lorber offer readers many useful tools, such as Four Dimensional Thinking, SMART planning, the Johari Window, and the 48-Hour Personal Retreat, that can help each of us identify our true core values and fundamental goals. This book is driven by thought-provoking questions - who are you, where are you, what will you do, and who are your allies - that enable readers to recognize their talents and passions in order to take control of the future as well as responsibility for a journey of success and happiness. In this well-written, clear, and direct book, the authors challenge us to realize the best of our lives and to overcome the hurdles we face along the way.

Who Are You? What Do You Want?:

Who Are You and What Do You Want?Great book about meaningful self-actualization. From the thought provoking stories to the personal retreat exercises, this book is a blueprint for all of us to follow. I've given copies to co-workers and friends who have all thanked me after reading this great book. Enjoy! Michael Ziegler, President and CEO, PRIDE Industries

The book that keeps giving

I first read this book awhile ago, and found it provided me with a very concrete process through which I could step back from my life and reevaluate all of the priorities that had gotten lost in the daily grind. It is so important to take that opportunity and challenge yourself to reflect on the four steps outlined in the book, ie. :who are you and what do you want" and "where are you and why are you here", etc. Most importantly, though, is the experience that I had from rereading the book during my convalescence from a significant spinal surgery. The book was vitally important to reassess where I am now in my life. This book can be read and reread many times, I am sure, and each time would provide an amazing opportunity for personal growth and reflection. I strongly recommend it!!!!!! Kathleen A. Lacey
