Navigating 1950s East Africa

White Man's Drum - the first of three books focused on building a communications system through East Africa. A great book for young teens who may especially enjoy Gordon's interactions with crocodiles and his driving mishaps. Before internet and mobile phones, radio was it - and readers get a unique perspective on how difficult it was to create these networks. My knowledge of East Africa tripled after enjoying this book!
