Couldn't put it down!

I actually read this book about 6 years ago. I picked it up because it was about baseball and I am a big baseball buff. At the time I was only 12 and I felt like trying to read a large novel for the first time. Well it isn't just about baseball like I thought. This book shows us the harsh reality of living in the south during the 1950's. The main character is a young white boy, with an amazing pithing arm, who goings an all negro team. You learn how his decision affects his life and the lives of all his family and friends. As a young student it turned me on to reading and even now, I think it's the best book I've ever read. Though I was young when I read it, I still look over it from time to time and find even more depth that I didn't when I first read it. So this book isn't just for young people, it is actually more suitable for adults.
