God in the Everyday Life of Children

In a mere 24 pages the author and illustrator manage to present a wide variety of situations in which children are thankful to God, ask for God's help and healing, pray for protection from fears in the night and accidents, and appreciate all of creation as well as human differences. In addition, the stories include negative behaviors that end on a positive note, such as a temper tantrum after which the child asks God to help her control her anger next time it flares up. The children find God in the clouds, at the beach, in the woods, and in a church with a stained glass window, candles, pews, and a pipe organ. This sturdy board book with its charming, vibrant illustrations provides many opportunities for discussions of God's loving presence.
