Where Are You Now? kept me glued to the book until the very end!

I really like Mary Higgins Clark's books and this sounded interesting. This one had so many turns and characters, I got really excited about finding out the ending. I changed my mind several times. She makes her characters very real and some very likeable. One thing I really like is that she ties up all the ends. When reading a book or watching television, I have a real problem when people could not have done what is stated, such as returned to a cabin when their car wouldn't start, didn't start and they were abandoned in the woods. Thirty pages later they drive back to the cabin. She doesn't do that sort of forgetful thing and she even explains related items later in the book. I think you will like the book and be ready for your next adventure.

Email Gift Card

It was so simple to email a gift card to my best friend for her birthday. I will definately use this option again.

He Calls on Mother's Day

If you have a free afternoon, this book won't disappoint you. Carolyn's brother disappeared over 10 years ago. He calls his mother once a year on Mother's Day. Carolyn sees the toll his disappearance is taking on her mother. She also wants to get on with her own life. She tells her brother she is going to find him on his most recent call. On that same day, a young student disappears while walking home from a club. Carolyn begins to search for her brother while uncovering many connections to the new disappearance and other cases of missing girls. This book held my interest. Early on I suspected someone but the connections were a total surprise. You will enjoy this book. It is as good as early MHJ books.

Hats off to the "queen of suspense"!

I haad a difficult time putting this book down, but that's usually the case with a Mary Higgins Clark mystery. I was so curious about Mack's disappearance that I wanted to read ahead, but restrained myself as it's too much fun to guess the villain and find out if I'm correct. Carolyn is the intelligent and determined heroine I've come to expect, which reminds me of another expectation: a "clean" novel. Thank you, Mary Higgins Clark!

Exciting and suspenseful!

I have been addicted to Mary Higgins Clark's books since 'Where Are The Children' was published in 1975, her first book. I have always eagerly looked forward to her next book and I have never been disappointed. Her mind is just as sharp now as then and she is in her eighties, if I'm not mistaken. Her plots are still as tight and her ability to lead you on a merry chase for the antagonist as when she first started. She wrote a line in her acknowledgements this time that I really liked, "Same time next year? You bet." I'll be waiting just as eagerly same time next year for her next book. Clark departs from her usual style in this book, with part of the story being told in the first person as Carolyn MacKenzie shares her feelings and adventures with the reader. The rest is written in her normal fashion. I found that quite interesting. She still has the ability to draw her readers into the drama as she always has. You will find yourself trying to guess the perpetrator early on in the story and you will not be able to guess correctly no matter how hard you try, for Clark knows how to keep you guessing, while at the same time, surprising you totally when the bad guy is finally revealed. I have re-read many of her books and seen some of the movies made of her books. I enjoy her writing so much and one reason, among many, is her ability to tell a suspenseful and enjoyable tale without resorting to the vulgarity and profanity common in most novels today. Kudos to you, Mrs. Clark, for writing clean novels! My only wish is that she would do a book tour near my home in SC. I would absolutely LOVE to meet her. Don't hesitate to buy this book. You will not be disappointed in the least.

The Missing Person

Years ago, a college student named Charles ("Mack") MacKenzie walked out of his life for no apparent reason. Since then, once a year, he calls his mother to assure her that he's all right, and to ask her not to look for him. Now, Mack's younger sister, Carolyn, has decided to find him. Her search uncovers a lot of old secrets among the people closest to her, and someone is trying to prevent Carolyn from solving the mystery behind her brother's disappearance--by any means necessary.... Once again, Mary Higgins Clark has provided us with a sleek, fascinating thriller that builds to a terrific payoff. I read it in one long sitting, and you'll be tempted to do the same. There's a good reason for her 30-year reign as America's "Queen of Suspense," and WHERE ARE YOU NOW? is ample proof of her extraordinary talent. Recommended.
