How It Was Done Back Then

The inspiration ....I got for selling my photos when I returned from a trek across Africa with a German friend in 1957 -- came from the original book published by Arvel Ahlers back in the early '50's. The book showed me it was indeed possible to sell long distance to publishers nationwide. Where the book fell short, I began learning on my own and eventually wrote my own book, Sell & ReSell Your Photos. (1982) It's in its fifth edition. You might say Arvel Ahlers was the 'father' of amateur stock photographers. -- Rohn Engh
