This is probably the best written, easiest to understand one-volume history ever penned about the American Revolution. William Casey, one-timer director of the CIA, provides an excellent armchair tour of the Revolution, covering not only the military, but the political aspects of the war. Both famous and little known battles are covered in an easy to follow, chronological format. While the size of the book precludes in-depth coverage, no important detail is omitted. If I could own only book about the Revolutionary War, this would be it.
