When's Recess?

Even though the author, Dr. Play, AKA Howard Papush delivers the main message the book promises, which is, that it is healthy for adults to learn to play again, as they once or perhaps never did, I was pleasantly surprised at the nostagic trip from the sixties to the year 2000 with so many examples of what made us happy then and even today. I live in Israel where everyone knows there is so much tension. Maybe Dr. Play has the solution to dealing with the difficulties of the the home, the office and the world. We must all learn to PLAY AGAIN! Read the book. You'll see. Yehuda Konigsberg Jerusalem, Israel

Deligthful Tap on the Shoulder to Have More Joy in Your Day

"HowardPapush" (as Mel Brooks likes to call him) has written a delightful tap on the shoulder to all of us "adults" to come out and PLAY. Mr. Papush's book is a gentle read that really sneaks up on the reader like a literary game of hide and seek. His call to us all: bring more Play and Joy into our homes, workplaces, lives and families. Then he shows us how. Through his humorous retellings of some personal stories, "Howie," reveals that those adult "burdens" we've taken on at home and work, don't have to be so burdening. By the end of the book I felt like a good friend had given me a playful "call to arms" to stop, smell the roses ... and then PLAY with them!

Great Fun and Enlightnening

Even as adults, "play" is so important. This is a "how to" book that will rekindle your childhood playfulness, but as a "grownup." It will help you manage stress and give you powerful ways to cooperate with your peers, your subordinates, your boss and even your family. It is filled with "inside" stories of the author's many entertainment contacts when he was with the "Tonight Show" and other programs. Very worthwhile reading.

FUN, HELPFUL, AND INTERESTING CELEBRITY ANECDOTES

I enjoyed this book from beginning to end. While it is indeed informative and helpful in teaching the reader the importance of relaxation, WHEN'S RECESS also provides surprising tidbits of celebrity and interesting non-celebrity gossip. Stories told run the gamut from laughter to tears. I highly recommend this to anyone who feels a twinge of tension and wishes the week away so he can have a weekend. This book shows you the importance of momentary "vacations" during a normal work week.

WHEN'S RECESS? Is a Winner

I've participated in Dr. Play's seminars and watched adults walk into his seminars bleary-eyed, overworked and overburdened -- and within 30 minutes, they are suddenly awake, vibrant, playful and eager to get to know people for the first time -- sometimes people they've worked with for years. His new book is a reminder that although we are adults -- in order to be healthy and happy, we must remember that the child we once were is still alive and well inside us and, every day, needs to be set free.
