This is such a wonderful book!! It reminds me of my son when he was little. He's 17 now and this book just floods those warm memories back. (He still waits impatiently for that first snow!) This little boy represents all of the children waiting for that first snow. It also shows a mother, doing what she can to lessen the continued disappointment in her child. When the cold snow finally begins, the rest of the story just warms your heart. Super, super book!
Excellent story and illustrations for young and old.

After growing up in Canada and always looking forward to winter, this story brought back some of the best times of my life. Now in Brisbane with two children of my own, it is very nice to be able to tell them that that is exactly what it was like waiting for winter to come, and how I was always looking forward to winter. The illustrations capture the anticipation and once the snow arrives you can almost feel the fresh snow crunch under foot as Robin and his mother go for a walk in the forest. This book is one of my favorite to read to my daughters, I never tire of it and always feel like I have been waiting for winter all over again
