The Soul of Sex

The McCluskeys understand and speak to the inextricable connection between body and spirit. They view sex as a form of communication, so it's natural that they focus on what's being communicated. It's at this deeper level, they contend, that most sexual problems and frustrations begin. And they can only be cured at the source-in the soul. They avoid the degrading lingo that most people default to in discussions of sex. Each chapter begins with a character sketch of a marriage from Christopher's casebook, and the stories resonate, touching on issues all couples struggle through. My cheeks flushed as I saw my own mistakes woven through others' experiences. But the book's gentle tone makes this bearable. With this book, the McCluskeys have set a new standard for the genre. Much more than a manual, When Two Become One speaks to and about the holy longing in each of us, a longing for God in our physical experience of each other.

Coaching Couples into Passionate Intimacy

Chris and Rachel McCluskey coach couples into deepening their love and sexual enjoyment of each other---in very insightful and refreshing ways. I think it is helpful for everyone from newlyweds to those married for a long time who want great information with a desire to build a more passionate love life than they often have had modeled for them. Their Lovemaking Cycle is an especially helpful model for practically falling deeper in love and enhancing lovemaking. Buy this book and you are in for some fun, informative and exciting reading.

Great book on the heart of sex

This isn't a manual, but a book on the heart of sex. It includes a neat way of looking at the sex act (Lovemaking Cycle) that is useful in helping spouses talk to each other about what does and doesn't work during lovemaking. The large question/answer section also gives interesting insight and help for common issues. Add this to a good manual (like Celebration of Sex) and you have a great reference library for any couple.

Awakening the greatest dimension to marriage

I have always known Marriage was sacred, and that sex was to be saved for marriage, but I had never made the connection that sex itself is sacred. Sex is clearly a physical pleasure, so I have always thought of it on a physical plane. This book awakens the mind to the reality that there is a spiritual dimension to sexual intimacy that has long been overlooked in our age. That spiritual dimension actually heightens the connection and intimacy that man and wife share when they engage freely in the physical pleasure that is ours, by right, as image bearers of God.

Understanding true partnership and joy in marriage

Chris and Rachel have written an incredibly helpful book that hightlights the issues of intimacy we are all looking for in marriage. As a couple's therapist I highly recommend it to partners looking to enhance and understand the needs of the other.
