A Most Pleasant Surprise!

My decision to purchase my first copy of the book was "on a whim"! Imagine my surprise when I dove into the book and quickly realized it was not based on "humor", but on "real meat"! I soon ordered 30 more and will soon need a resupply as I have determined that many people need to read the "message". Even my Methodist pastor decided he should read the book. So glad I picked it up on the spur of the moment while I waited for my prescription to be filled.

Timely Advice

This book has an appropriate amount of scripture to back up the logic within the pages. I and several of my co-workers used it when we had a call meeting with our boss. It really does give practical advice about when to speak up and when to hold your piece. I would suggest it for anyone who attends meeetings, supervises others, and who counsels or serves as a mentor to others. In addition, parents may see great benefits from using it.

Loved it

I (along with the entire bridal party) was given this book as a gift from my best friend (the bride). We were taken aback when we first opened out presents. But later found that this book is wonderful and truly a must read for everyone. And it was especially nice to understand their point for giving it to each of us. In any relationship it's a forever struggle to know when to speak up and when not to and it's especially needed for a new couple. This is a great book. I am going to get the other recommended titles as well.

Helpful, practical...for everyone

This type of book should be a must read for every business person, church member or parent. It has helped me all the above places of my life. Not only does this book address common areas of communication, but it helps explain why I make mistakes in my speech patterns. I especially found it helpful to minimize placing people on the defensive and getting into disagreements...even with my teenagers :)I look forward to reading Dr. Sedler's other book Stop the Runaway Conversation that deal with gossip and criticism.Keep them coming...this is a real A+
