great series

Good story. Keeps you reading. Gives you several ways the story can end so you can't figure it out before the end.

Hannah's story continues

Hannah Lapp has fled her Old Order Amish home in Owl's Perch, to seek out another Amish outcast-her Aunt Zabeth. Growing up, Hannah had no knowledge of her aunt's existance until she stumbled upon some letters her father had hidden away. She left her home with the help of friends, but didn't tell them where she was going. She's steps off the warm train into the winter darkness that has descended on Alliance, Ohio. No one is there to meet her for no one knows she's coming. Hannah is on her own in a world that is foreign to her Old Order ways. Hannah is also suffering the effects of a premature, still birth. Underage, she is afraid to seek medical help, in fear that the authorities will send her back to her home. When lands up in the hospital, she is just days away from her eighteenth birthday. Will her doctor discover where she's from and send the underage runaway back home, or will he have mercy and help her find her long-lost aunt? When The Morning Comes is the second book in the Sisters of the Quilt series by Cindy Woodsmall. She continues Hannah's story, as well as the story of her family and friends back in Owl's Perch, especially Hannah's tormented sister Sarah. Suffering from secret guilt in the part she played in Hannah's leaving home, Sarah's sanity begins to slip. But Sarah isn't the guilt-ridden resident of the small village. Paul Waddel, Hannah's fiance, has his own guilt to contend with. He'd driven Hannah way when she needed him most and now he has no idea where she is or how to begin to look for her. When The Morning Comes continues in the same captivating vein as the first book, When the Heart Cries (Sisters of the Quilt #1)

A book that will tug at your heart and will not let go....

A riveting sequel to "When the Heart Cries". Hannah Lapp is determined to flee the Amish Community that has betrayed her and the man who had turned his back on her when he found out about the circumstances of her pregnancy. With the help of her few remaining allies, Hannah forges out on her own to find the aunt whom her father have never mentioned. Meanwhile, back in Owl's Perch, Paul is faced with the possibility of Hannah never returning to Owl's Perch. I don't want to give away too much of the plot but overall I would give this book a four and a half star rating because the ending is another cliff-hanger since we probably have to wait to another year to find out what happens next to Hannah, Paul, Sarah, Mary, Luke and Matthew. I will be looking for the third book in this awesome series!

A Great Addition to Sister's of the Quilt Series

Hannah Lapp's baby is dead, and she believes her fiance, Pall Waddell has rejected her. Fleeing from the anger and condemnation of her family and community, Hannah goes to her shunned Aunt Zabeth, in Ohio. She has a new life, new friends, new work. Aunt Zabeth is delighted to have her and Hannah enjoys the freedom of the Englischer life, but she misses her home and family. She misses Paul too, but she's met a man to whom she is attracted. One who is willing to accept her as she is. Back home, the people who rejected her are forced to face their own behavior and the way they treated Hannah. The person most affected is her sister, Sarah, who becomes less connected to reality every day. Although Hannah doesn't want to return to her family, she may not have a choice. Cindy Woodsmall has a gift for capturing the essence of the Old Order Amish and Mennonite communities. When The Morning Comes is an intriguing story about a young woman who has lived through great tragedy and survived. Full of emotion, conflict, and faith, it's a great addition to the Sisters of the Quilt series.

Cell phones meet horse & buggy in this journey of faith

Book two in the Sisters of the Quilt series, When Morning Comes is the perfect sequel to When the Heart Cries. As Hannah comes of age in this journey of faith, she's exposed to a new world of opportunity. A world where many of her dreams can come true. Woodsmall is a gifted writer who once again turned off my inner editor, enabling me to suspend disbelief and experience Hannah's life-changing challenges. Have you ever read a sequel to a book you loved, and the author took the story in a direction you didn't want it to go? I was surprised with the end of When Morning Comes, yet it had a certain rightness to it, a satisfying end. But it isn't the end. There's more to Hannah's story to come. I for one, can't wait to read it.
