Super cute book that makes a wonderful Father's Day present. The pastoral illustrations are soothing and the somewhat repetitive verse is very calming at bed/naptime. My husband liked that both of our boys enjoyed a book that focused on a father/child relationship...this will be a "keeper" long after they have outgrown it!
Beautiful Story

I picked up this book as a Father's Day gift to my husband from our then 2 year old son. What first caught my eye was the similarity in looks with my husband and son to the father/child illustrations in the book. It was also neat to find a book that showed a father and child adventure into the night, discovering all the creatures out and about when the moon is high. The story is poetic and easy for our son to remember and 'read' with us now that he is three. It has become a special night time book in our house and has a very calming effect as we complete our bedtime ritual with it. I highly recommend this book.
This is an excellent book!

Both my 4.5 year old and my 7 month old love this book. (Which is rare ~ I hardly ever find a book they both enjoy!) The story is wonderfully poetic and the illustrations are as beautiful as the language. My only complaint ~ and it is a minor one ~ is that the baby is shown sleeping in a crib. But the fact that the father goes to the baby immediately, then takes a late night walk with him (her?) is just fantastic. I highly recommend this book!
