Wonderful book for moms (and kids too)

I happened to run acroos this book in the library today. It is an excellent story, just hard to imagine that I never saw it before. Nobody ever recommended it to me! My kids enjoyed it but with me it was an instant hit. It was so uplifting to finally see a mother portrayed as she usually is, when house is a mess and company is coming. And it was very refreshing to find out that I, being monstrous from time to time, am not such an isolated case. This book is an excellent read any day but especially on those days when you just "had it". Guaranteed to brighten you up! The only wish I have is for this work to be available in paperback. The library binding is great but really expensive.

Children's Librarian recommends for both parents & kids!

I am a Children's Librarian who has read this book many times to children ages 4-10. The kids always love this book. They enjoy noticing the monstrous changes in the mom and trying to guess what happens next. The teachers and parents always seem to think that the book must have been written with their families in mind. I personnally really like this book and would recommend it for any young child. I also recommend the book "Dear Bear" which was also written by this author. (Here's a cute touch I noticed in "When Mom Turned into a Monster": in the illustration showing the children's messy bedroom, there is a copy of "Dear Bear" lying on the floor. How clever!)

I feel that this same situation has occur in our family life

The story draws a similarity with every day strugles, and expresses the feelings of mothers, the final understanding of kids and has a funny twist at the end. We really enjoy this book, all of us, me and my 5 daughters.
