I am so in love with this author and all of her books. Her insights about human relationships are amazing. It is uncanny that one so young could know so much. The author died so young and I continue to read her books again and again.

Granted, this book is not what the title expects. However, I read this book, I don't even know, 20 years ago and is a must read ... It is one of the best books I ever read in my entire life and I wish that everyone I know would read this book! Merle Shain had a philosophical and very real approach to life with this writing. It's small, easy read, and completely poignant in everybody's life. I brought the book back out again after these 20 years to get myself back as I somewhere along the line lost the insight I used to have. I think she died and that is why there are only a few books by her. I have read all her books, but this was her absolute best. Just read it to gain peace of mind. That's all.

No better book for approaching life love & friendship!

I found this book 10 years ago, and have found myself needing her insightful & encouraging approach to life/friends/ & getting by from this book regularly. This is absolutely the best book I have ever read on life's lessons! It is so disappointing to not find her books any longer -the copy I have is yellow and worn, & I have to keep it under lock & key from borrowing friends!
