Mr. Cooper does a great job of building up suspension regarding the Katyn Forest Massacre and the conspiracy to protect the Communists from politcal retaliation. [Thousands of Polish military leaers were executed at Katyn, shot in the back of the head.] Since this reviewer has written two books on the subject, it's a massacre i'll never excuse... alas, after taking us poor readers through hell to nail (hopefully) the Soviets on the horrid crime they committed, Mr. Cooper leaves us in the lurch. Katyn sort of disappears at the end and Author Cooper dismisses the multi-murders with a note about the US Congresss investigating same (which is, incidentally, how i learned of it in the first place). All in all though it's a great read...
