★ "Fans of A Series of Unfortunate Events will be in heaven."―Kirkus Reviews, starred review Before the Baudelaires became orphans, before he encountered A Series of Unfortunate Events, even before the invention of Netflix, Lemony Snicket was a boy discovering the mysteries of the world. This is his story. In the fading town of Stain'd-by-the-Sea, young apprentice Lemony Snicket has a new case to solve when he and his chaperone are hired to find a missing girl. Is the girl a runaway? Or was she kidnapped? Was she seen last at the grocery store? Or could she have stopped at the diner? Is it really any of your business? These are All The Wrong Questions. The mystery continues in Shouldn't You Be in School? and Why Is This Night Different from All Other Nights?, both available now.
It blends in well with the previous books as nothing truly stands out as special. It also ties in new characters seamlessly. I liked it but it does get a bit slow at times.
Little Lemony!

This book series is amazing. It's written from 12-year-old Lemony Snicket in first-person and follows his adventures when he was a VFD trainee. The series provides a lot of insight into how VFD operated and the shenanigans he would get into as a pre-teen. The four book series follows Lemony and his VFD mentor as they investigate a mystery in a town called Stain'd-By-The-Sea. For fans of A Series of Unfortunate Events, this is a must read! It has quite a few nods and callbacks to characters and situations from ASOUE. Every time I'd see a hint to something from ASOUE I'd get giddy and excited. Seriously, read this series. You'll love it.
