This book was a good $60 cheaper than the second edition of the book that I found in my student book store. Since my professor accepts both versions, I decided to get this one and save that $60 for something else. The book came relatively quickly too, so I didn't have to fall behind in class.

I was completely happy and satisfied with the product I received. It came in great condition. But the only thing that made me feel uncomfortable with the purchase was the time that it took to receive the product. Which was probably due to the christmas holidays. However other then that customer service was good.
Perfect for a class

If you want to give a class on the development of rock and roll and pop music in the US this is the book to get. It's perfect, highlights history, musical elements but not so much that it's incomprehensible for a non musician. Especially the listening guides are very useful.
What's that sound!

This book is a paper back but is loaded with a greatly detailed essay on music and how it relates to the music business throughout the changes chronologically in popular music from the last century. If you have any interest in music at all this is worth it, read it and memorize it.
