A Delightful Book

This is the first book I read by this author and I found it quite enjoyable. I enjoyed all of the characters, the ghost hunting was believable and I just pre-ordered the second book in the series.

Another great character

I thought Victoria Laurie had good characters in her Abby Cooper (Pyshic Eye) series and that she couldn't top them. But M.J., Gilley, and Dr Steven Sable are three really exciting characters that I cannot wait to see more of. I literally couldn't put this book down. The publishing company needs to get better reviewers. The synopsis on the back of the book wasn't good. I bought it because I liked the authors previous books. After I read the back, I figured that she would go back to her other series and I set it aside. When I was half way thru, I reread the back again and wondered if the reviewer read the story or just the outline. It is good, keeps you interested, and I could see Sandra Bullock playing M.J.--she has the right attitude. I cannot wait for the next books.

Another great series from Laurie

As a fan of the Abby Cooper series, I anticipated this new series - A Ghost Hunter Mystery - and I was not disappointed - this is another delightful series!! M.J. and her partner, Gilley are ghostbusters. Dr. Steven Sable, hires them to find out what happened to his grandfather. As Ms. Laurie has done with the Abby Cooper books, she shows us the role of a psychic - the responsibilities, the integrity, the dedication. To help a soul who has lost their way, to help them 'cross over' needs not only the ability to 'see' the soul, but be able to help them find their way. Not just all the gadgets that a ghostbuster needs to find spiritual activity. Ms. Laurie masterfully educates us what it takes to do this line of work, as well as entertain us with wonderful plot and characters. Laurie also writes a fine story with action, mystery, romance, and mixing the paranormal with the everyday makes the reader right there in the action. Laurie's writing, the word play between the characters is crisp and wonderful. I am happy that this new series is great and look forward to more - Can tell you that Ms. Laurie is gifted in her own right and gives her insight into her work. You will enjoy this and all Victoria Laurie's works.

Another hit for Victoria Laurie, pure genius!

This latest book from Victoria Laurie grabs your attention from the first page and goes on to hold you captive 'til the last one. M.J. Holliday is a great character with psychic abilities similar to Abbey Cooper ( from the Psychic Eye series) but also the facility to help lost souls to 'cross over' to the other side. Together with her business partner Gilley, and the De-vilishly De-lish Dr. Steven, who hires M.J. to investigate his grandfather's alleged 'suicide' leap from the upper floors of the family's hunting lodge, their adventures are rivetting. The scientifically-minded Doctor is initially sceptical of M.J.'s abilities to contact the departed but is soon convinced and joins the pair on their 'ghost busting' adventure. I love the way these characters have been developed, well rounded, likeable and true to life.. You will NOT be disappointed with this first book in the series, or indeed any of her previous books!! Loooooooved it !!!!!!!!!!!
