Great For A Women's Bible Study

Ha! Wouldn't every man on planet earth like to know that! Hmmm... As a woman I'd like to know too. Sometimes we are so deep and intricate that we can't figure ourselves out. Usually, it isn't until you sit down with a friend to talk about it that you figure out what really is inside of you. What it is that you really do want. That is what Lisa Bergren and Rebecca Price have done for us. They talked to many women and asked questions to get to the heart of their longings and desires. They probed to find the answer to What Women Want. In this book you will find excerpts from the interviews of many women who have the same concerns, desires, questions, and heartache as you. Then listen to practical advice and receive loving support from these women and they address the issues deep in the heart of a woman. Complete with devotions and study questions, this book is a fabulous resource to add to any library and would be wonderful to use as a launching pad for a women's bible study. There are also interviews with women like: Kay Arthur, Shaunti Feldhahn, Liz Curtis Higgs, and Barbara Rainey.

Wonderful book to keep coming back to.

I am reading this book for the 3rd time in the last year. I love this book. It really makes me feel good about myself and helps me to connect with God. I am honestly suprised at the low ratings on this book. I guess to each his own. I think it is a great read and I really enjoy it.

Great Group Bible Study Tool!

I just finished using Lisa Bergren and Rebecca Price's What Women Want for a Bible study for the women at my church. We had 45 women in our study and everyone enjoyed every minute of this book! The book begins by establishing that we are all "phenomenal creations of God," and this was quite eye opening for many of our women. Several of them had a hard time saying that aloud, but by the end of the study, they were all ready to shout it out! This study brought our women closer to one another and closer to God. It covers everything from our relationship to the Father to body image and relationships. There is something for every woman in your church body! If you're looking for your next women's study, look no further. I promise that your group will love this book!

A 5-Star Read for ALL Women

Ladies, grab your pens, journals and bibles because you're going to want to take notes and highlight every ounce of wisdom that Lisa Bergren and Rebecca Price have to share in their collaborative effort, What Women Want-The Life You Crave and How God Satisfies. The authors use information gathered through a national survey and interviews with women of all ages to garner a deeper understanding of what women are really searching for in their lives. Many of us want richer, fuller lives that allow more time with our loved ones and a deeper connection with the Lord. Yet, many of us are at a loss as to how we can go about obtaining the very things we're desperately seeking. In this book, women share their struggles in finding balance with their personal, professional and spiritual lives and how they, just like me, hunger to have balance in all three. So when I read, "Slow down. Rest. Love yourself. Forgive yourself. It's a juggling act, managing a family. Getting this grace and love thing straight in our own heads and hearts is the first step to a happy home," I was encouraged because I instantly felt that I didn't need to keep it all together. For many of us, life can feel like a circus act as we struggle to balance family life, work and ministry. Yet, the authors remind us that God doesn't want our lives to be filled with stress, tears and unnecessary hardships, God wants our lives to be purpose-filled and overflowing with joy. Every chapter contains biblical truths that will encourage you to walk closer with the Lord, allow Him to heal your hurts, and lead you to a healthier, brighter future. All in all, I would say this book is a "must have" for any woman who feels she's stressed out, misunderstood or just feeling like she's living in a zoo. But be forewarned; once you start reading and applying God's truths that are shared in the pages of this book, you'll never be the same! Excellent Book for Women

Lisa Bergrenan and Rebecca Price rely heavily on quotes from real women who are willing to share their experiences. As women, few of us feel we measure up to what we should be. Perhaps it's the artificial standard set by the entertainment business that makes us feel this way, but the attitude seems to be universal. We don't think we're good enough, smart enough, compassionate enough. We want to be more, do more. In many instances, we carry scars from being hurt, and life keeps throwing new problems our way. What Women Want offers indepth Bible discussions that will lead the reader to a closer walk with God who knows and understands our deepest needs. Every bookstore has a shelf of self-help books, most of them contrary to God's Word. Bergren and Price have written a book for Christian women hoping to find answers to their problems from a biblical point of view. Recommended.
