Readers of all ages love Dr. Seuss's spooky and silly story about facing your fears Featuring over 50 special glow-in-the-dark bonus stickers and a luxe, gift-worthy cover that glows in the dark and has a matte "soft-touch" finish
I was deep within the woods When, suddenly, I spied them. I saw a pair of pale green pants With nobody inside them What's a pair of empty green trousers doing by itself in the woods? Or riding a bike through town? The narrator of What Was I Scared Of? does not want to find out. The spooky pants give him the creeps This Seussian gem from The Sneetches and Other Stories shines on its own as it delivers a timeless message about fear and tolerance. Perfect for slumber parties and perusal by flashlight--it comes with a sheet of spooky glowing stickers bound inside as an added bonus
The book arrived in good condition. My son loves it, particularly the glow in the dark pictures on each page. It’s his favorite book to ‘read in the dark.’ I love the story too.
Not as described. I should have read the reviews.

This book is tiny and does not glow in the dark. It’s cute, but disappointing.
I liked very much

The book was about 5“ x 5“ in size… Order did not show this… I was expecting a bigger book... Other than this and receiving two of the same book I was impressed with them
Great great story!

It is amazing that the book shows kids this type of teaching SO thoroughly!!! Everybody has an experience or two of scared/afraid feelings of getting to know a new thing/people in their lives. My kids are 2,3, and 5 but they SURE understand pretty well of the concept! It also glows in the dark, so it was even fun for them to see :)
One of Seuss's Best!

I LOVE this book! What could be better than a "pair of pale green pants with no one inside them" wandering around? This pair of pants scare our main character since the pants seem to lurk wherever he goes. In typical Seuss fashion, we discover at the end that the pants were just looking for a friend. As a preschool teacher, my children LOVE this book. They beg for "the pants book." We even did a dramatic reading of this book during our summer camp--kids aged 3-12--and it easily held their attention. It is not one of his best known stories, but it becomes an easy favorite. Definitely check this one out!

Perhaps my top pick for the bedtime stories. The eyes of a child grow large, their tiny heartbeats quicken and their grip tightens upon your person. Questions arise every other page from their interested brains as to "What do you think is gonna happen next?". Until the last few pages when all is revealed what's green and has been walking in the dark, the cutest of giggles begin. Upon leaving the childs room, lights go out and the exchange of good nights are given; even thou it is but a humourous book, none-the-less do the tiny folk remind you to leave the closet light on when exiting the room. I think those are the best critiques in the world. A Suessage walk in the forest dark. LadyGray Author of the Yuletide Tale - White Holly
What Was I Scared Of?

The book What Was I Scared Of? tells the story of a young boy afraid of a pair of pants. The empty pants follow him around, but not because he wants to scare the boy, but because he is lonely and empty. When the narrator and the pair of pants are hiding from each other in the same bush, the boy realizes that he was just as strange to him as he was to the boy.
What a terrific book!

My three year old son and I recently got this book from the library. Needless to say, it is due now, so we need to buy our own copy! He loves it. We have read it every night for the past two weeks before nap AND bedtime! When we get to the page where the main character reaches into the Snide bush, and who do you think he feels? My son says, "THE PALE GWEEN PANTS!" The words just flow from your mouth and the story builds in anticipation. It has such a great lesson...indeed, "I was just as strange to them as they were strange to me." What a wonderful book, fun yet with a valuable sentiment!
