A little boy offers encouragement, information, and reassurance about bedtime to make the transition from awake to asleep smoother and less stressful on both sides of the bed. Illustrations. This description may be from another edition of this product.
"What to Expect at Bedtime" is a pleasant bedtime primer in the "What to Expect Kids" series from Heidi Murkoff, the author of the reknowned "What to Expect When You're Expecting." This book answers many important questions about the subject and provides calm reassurance. This is a book that offers straight advice, but with pleasant illustrations and a friendly character --- Angus the Answer Dog. The book covers subjects children are often curious about, such as what grown-ups do when they're asleep and what they should do if they wake up during the night. "What to Expect at Bedtime" includes warm illustrations, some questions for thought and even the occasional diagram. The text is probably a bit too advanced for the target audience to read on their own --- but it's a perfect book for a read-aloud to kids. The illustrations reinforce the text and will help readers to understand the advice given.
An Excellent Bedtime Book

Bedtime had become a real challange in our house. The first time I read this book to my 3 year old daughter, she WAS NOT interested! I think she knew this was not just another bedtime story. But after having it sitting near her bed for awhile she started asking for it. Now that she loves it we read at least one "chapter" every night. She now understands why her room is dark, what a dream is, and the importance of a good night sleep. In fact, the other morning when I went to wake her, she was already awake and faking sleep. She told me that she was still sleeping so she could have enough energy for the day! Bedtime is so easy and pleasant now. This book was an answer to our prayers and I highly recommend it!
A great book for bedtime.

It was not easy for me and my husband to send my 3-year-old boy to bed. He always asked for one more song again and again with tears. This bothered us so much. My husband bought this book for him and we read together before his bedtime. After several days, it did work! My boy went to bed without crying and arguing. I thought he got something from this book. The bedtime is no longer "bad time" for us.
